Hello fellow association professionals -- I meant to open up the floor for questions much earlier in the month regarding my article on keeping IT Professionals On Board. Alas, conference season and viral infections have kept me from posting.
A bit of background: While I was the CompTIA IT Professional Membership Manager (until Nov. 2007 when I came to SmithBucklin), I spoke with countless IT Professionals about their professional development. I developed a passion for working with IT Pros and with business owners and leaders regarding the development of IT skills and career paths.
So I'm going to ask you all a question (or two):
- How do you go about defining the development plan for your IT staff members?
- Is your plan for development mapped to your strategic business development plan?
