Before he was charged with and acquitted of 2nd degree murder, Phil Spector was best know for introducing the "wall of sound", a musical technique that literally enveloped the lyrics 1960's rock and roll groups sang in the melodies we heard. We association marketers should think of using a similar technique in our marketing efforts. In my article for this months Forum, I discuss 15 Ideas You Can Use to increase marketing response rates. Underlying those tips is my take off on Spector's "wall of sound" I think of as "a wall of marketing" that literally envelops the prospect and member alike in all the opportunities/products/service and other member benefits our individual association offer. In a perfect member centric environment, our members should not have to look anywhere else for anything they need to succeed in their careers. Our associations should be there first with the products and services and benefits they need both on and off the job. And we should have a member contact plan to make sure that members are constantly in the know about what we offer, why they need it, why they should by it from the association and why they should buy it now.
